Fortuna Cools

Fortuna’s all-natural insulation is replacing plastic foam once and for all: our products are designed to last years, not millennia. Made from coconut farm waste, Fortuna coolers are durable, affordable, and biodegradable. What's more, Fortuna’s upcycled raw material provides additional income for farmers and eliminates CO2 emissions by using waste that would otherwise be burned.

Fortuna Cools has three lines of products.

Our collapsible tuna coolers were designed for the one hundred thousand small-scale tuna fishermen in Southeast Asia that lack at-sea cold storage—their catch is left to spoil in the sun until they reach the shore, at which point the quality has degraded significantly. We spent months prototyping with local fishermen and designed an affordable, durable, and expandable cooler for this totally untouched market.

Our Fdurable, flat-packable alternative to the standard Styrofoam cooler. Designed alongside fish and produce suppliers in the Philippines to avoid plastic pollution and reduce packaging costs.

Our Nutshell Coolers are designed for lovers of the outdoors, so that everyone can come along on this journey of social impact and material innovation.

FreeFormPack

FreeFormPack® began with an idea and a desire to do something that had never been done before.

Nabore Benini, the MD of Curti had an idea that he wanted to revolutionize the packaging market. He had come across a sample of paper that had a good stretchability, with this paper in hand he put the engineers to work. Out came the first seed of what now is known as FreeFormPack®, unfortunately the world was not yet ready since the paper could not be industrialized.

In 2008 BillerudKornäs came across the same paper that Nabore had found. With their extensive knowledge in paper production they worked out a way to produce the paper in their existing paper machines. This was the birth of the FibreForm® Paper, which was not only formable but also had a clay coating for premium printing.

In 2012 Nabore approached BillerudKornäs with the vision of a new era for the packaging market, with his FreeFormPack® Machine for creating a formable packaging and the stretchable FibreForm® they were about to create something amazing.

The joint venture FreeForm Packaging AB was founded in the beginning of 2013 and the journey to unbox your brand began.

Frugalpac

Frugalpac is an innovative new business that designs and manufactures recyclable liquids packaging. Our products are designed to be recycled through current standard systems. No special bins, no expensive closed loops. For instance, our headline-grabbing Frugal Cup is the first paper coffee cup that can genuinely be recycled in any recycling bin. At home, on the street, at work. It's an innovation that has the potential to challenge the waste that is currently overwhelming the take-away beverage sector.

Like so many great things before it, Frugalpac was founded in a shed. We discovered that many packaging formats weren’t easily recyclable and, worse, are adding carbon to the environment, so set about creating better solutions. In the years since that flash of inspiration, we gave birth to the unique construction of the Frugal Cup, the Frugal Bottle and have further innovations set to launch.

Frugalpac is now based in its own engineering innovation centre in Ipswich. We’re supplying Frugal Bottles around the world and developing more Frugalpac low carbon packaging innovations for the market.
