Pre-consumer waste
Textile waste generated in the phases prior to use by the consumer, also commonly known as post-industrial waste.
It comes from activities such as the production of yarns and fabrics, the cutting and packaging of garments and retail sector operations (e.g. unsold, samples, unused returns). It is distinct from post-consumer waste, as it does not derive from the use of the finished product, but from the residues of the industrial and commercial processes of the textile supply chain.
Scarto tessile generato nelle fasi precedenti all’utilizzo da parte del consumatore, comunemente noto anche come rifiuto post-industriale.
Proviene da attività come la produzione di filati e tessuti, il taglio e confezionamento dei capi e le operazioni del settore retail (es. invenduti, campionari, resi non utilizzati). È distinto dai rifiuti post-consumo, in quanto non deriva dall’uso del prodotto finito, ma dai residui dei processi industriali e commerciali della filiera tessile.
