TOMbag Pty Ltd is an Australian social enterprise based in Sydney, founded in 2019 by Sasha Pestano and partner Johnathan, inspired by their daughter Lyla to find a sustainable solution to single-use garbage bags.
The company developed what it describes as the world's first reusable garbage bag: made from rPET (GRS-certified recycled plastic) derived from recycled bottles, the bag is waterproof, machine-washable and durable (at least 12 months of use), available in three sizes (18L, 35L, 85L) for general waste, recycling, gardening and compost.
TOMbag, a certified B Corporation, donates at least 3% of its revenue to environmental partners, plants a tree for every product sold through the “One Tree Planted” programme, and has partnered with TerraCycle to recycle its products at end of life through the Zero Waste Box™ system, closing the loop of the circular economy.
