Polycart

Polycart was founded in 1977 by Giampiero Bianconi, Alfredo Fantucci, Giuseppe Bianchi and Adriano Volpi, and immediately specialized in the extrusion of polyethylene film.

After a few years, Print Plast was created, specializing in the printing and production of bags and shoppers, a company that was later fully integrated into Polycart.

Continuous investment in research and development of new materials led the company in 1995 to experiment with the new biodegradable product Mater-Bi® Novamont, which today represents over 70% of total production.

The basic idea is to open new frontiers to plastic materials to explore the boundaries represented by innovative solutions for packaging and communication in biodegradable and compostable materials.

These solutions have allowed the creation of new products that contribute to the protection of the environment and the health of the consumer.

In 2007 it became part of GPT srl (Gruppo Poligrafico Tiberino) one of the first networks of companies created with the aim of sharing, together with the University, the company's knowledge in order to create innovative products such as the Compost Label® and all the new "Biomade" products.

Compost Label®, the new family of biodegradable and compostable adhesive products according to UNI EN 13432, aims to solve the problem of creation and disposal of labels, fully embracing the philosophy of life cycle management and eco-sustainability, also ensuring the same performance of traditional products.

The continuous attention to the environment now allows the company to produce biodegradable and compostable materials certified by Vinçotte and CIC, marks that attest to the compostability of the product and that are issued only after careful checks and controls carried out by third-party laboratories.
