Morphologies


    Main morphologies of packaging: structural typologies, formal configurations, and design solutions adopted within packaging systems.

    The analysis of morphologies enables observation of how form, structure, and the articulation of components influence functional performance, product protection, logistical dynamics, and user interaction. 

    Considered in relation to materials, production processes, and design strategies, morphologies represent a key dimension for understanding the evolution of packaging solutions and the transformations currently affecting the packaging sector.

    Bin
    A medium-to-large-sized rigid container, usually cylindrical in shape, made of metal or plastic, with flat ends and an opening. Suitable for holding liquid, granular or powdered products for industrial use. Often comparable to a significantly smaller drum.
    Bidone
    Imballaggio rigido di dimensioni medio-grandi, generalmente di forma cilindrica, realizzato in metallo o in materia plastica, con estremità piane e aventi un’apertura. Adatto a contenere prodotti liquidi, in granuli o in polvere per uso industriale. Spesso assimilabile a un fusto di dimensioni fortemente ridotte.

    Bucket
    Cylindrical or conical container with lid and often a handle, made of metal or plastic. Used in particular to hold paints and other technical products.
    Secchiello
    Contenitore cilindrico o a tronco di cono, con coperchio e spesso con manico, realizzato in metallo o in materiale plastico.
    Usato in particolare per contenere vernici e altri prodotti tecnici.

    Cylindrical drum (~200 L) in metal for transport of liquids. It can also be called barrel (generic) or Keg (beer)
    Barile
    Contenitore cilindrico, generalmente di metallo dalla capacità di circa 180-200 litri, usato per il trasporto di materie prime e altri prodotti allo stato liquido.
