Morphologies


    Main morphologies of packaging: structural typologies, formal configurations, and design solutions adopted within packaging systems.

    The analysis of morphologies enables observation of how form, structure, and the articulation of components influence functional performance, product protection, logistical dynamics, and user interaction. 

    Considered in relation to materials, production processes, and design strategies, morphologies represent a key dimension for understanding the evolution of packaging solutions and the transformations currently affecting the packaging sector.

    Rigid Tube
    A rigid cylindrical package constructed by spirally or linearly winding multiple layers of paperboard. The structure consists of a main body tube, a permanently attached bottom (made of metal, plastic, or board), and a removable, reclosable lid or overcap.
    Tubo
    Imballaggio rigido di forma cilindrica ottenuto tramite l’avvolgimento a spirale o lineare di più strati di cartoncino pressato. La struttura è completata da un fondo fisso (solitamente in metallo, plastica o cartone) e da un coperchio amovibile coordinato che garantisce la richiudibilità.

    Squeeze Tube
    A flexible cylindrical container sealed at one end by a fold or weld (the tail) and featuring an orifice (nozzle) at the other, secured by a screw-on or flip-top cap. The contents are dispensed by applying manual pressure to the body of the tube. A functional primary packaging format made of aluminum, plastic (PE), or laminated materials. It is engineered for the precise dispensing of viscous products, pastes, or gels. Beyond cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, it is used in the lifestyle sector for creative packaging of accessories, gadgets, or material care products (e.g., premium leather creams), ensuring airtight protection and hygiene.
    Tubetto
    Contenitore cilindrico flessibile sigillato a un’estremità tramite saldatura o ripiegatura (coda) e dotato all’altra di un’apertura (bocchello) chiusa da un tappo a vite o a pressione. Il contenuto viene erogato esercitando una pressione manuale sul corpo del contenitore.

    Imballaggio primario funzionale, realizzato in alluminio, plastica (PE) o materiali laminati. È progettato per dosare con precisione prodotti viscosi, paste o gel. Oltre all’uso cosmetico e farmaceutico, nel settore lifestyle è impiegato per packaging creativi di accessori, gadget o prodotti per la cura dei materiali (es. lucidi o creme per pellami di pregio), garantendo protezione dall’aria e igiene.
