    WASTED rewards recycling with digital coins. The system incentivizes proper disposal through scans, photos, and rewards.

    WASTED, launched in the Netherlands in 2018 by the organization WASTED Lab, uses QR codes, a web platform, and a reward system to engage citizens in recycling. Users receive dedicated bags, scan the code on the bin, and upload a photo of the full bag. Upon approval, they receive a digital coin that can be used as a discount at local businesses. The project thus addresses the need for User Engagement, Gamification, and Reward System Applications.

    WASTED, avviato nei Paesi Bassi nel 2018 dall’organizzazione WASTED Lab, utilizza QR code, piattaforma web e un sistema di ricompense per coinvolgere i cittadini nel riciclo. L’utente riceve sacchetti dedicati, scansiona il codice sul bidone e carica una foto del sacchetto pieno: dopo l’approvazione ottiene una moneta digitale utilizzabile come sconto presso attività locali. Il progetto risponde quindi al need User Engagement, Gamification and Reward System Application.
