In 2023, in Italy, Bormioli Pharma introduced OptiMist, an innovative nebulizer for ophthalmic drugs designed to minimize waste and enhance administration control through a dedicated smartphone app. The device is part of a broader vision of connected healthcare, complemented by MediClicker, an IoT-enabled smart dispenser, and Trax, a multi-technology traceability system that records data throughout the supply chain and makes it accessible to both operators and end users. The project addresses the need for Instructions for Product and Packaging Use, Reuse and End-of-Life Management.
