In December 2021 Sonos announced its Climate Action Plan, committing to carbon neutrality by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2040, alongside a Product Sustainability Program dedicated to reducing the environmental impact of its products.
On the packaging front, the company set a target of using 100% responsibly sourced paper (post-consumer recycled, FSC-certified or plant-based) for its packaging by fiscal year 2025, with a stated aim of eliminating plastic from packaging entirely, while in the meantime reducing its use through post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic where still needed.
