    matterr GmbH is the current legal name (since January 2025) of the German deep-tech company previously known as RITTEC Umwelttechnik GmbH and then Rittec 8.0 Umwelttechnik GmbH, now headquartered in Braunschweig and led by Benjamin Rump and Melanie Hackler.
    The company continues to develop the patented revolPET® technology (and the related revolTEX® for textiles), a chemical recycling process based on depolymerisation that breaks down PET waste (including multilayer packaging, coloured bottles and polyester textiles, which are difficult or impossible to recycle mechanically) into its base monomers (terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol), enabling them to be re-polymerised into high-quality virgin-grade PET suitable for food contact.
    The technology, developed in cooperation with TU Braunschweig (ICTV and IWF) as part of a German federal ministry (BMBF) research programme, received the Founder's Prize of the German Sustainability Award (Next Economy Award 2021) and works with industrial partners such as Leistritz Extrusionstechnik and Equipolymers.
    matterr GmbH è la ragione sociale attuale (dal gennaio 2025) dell'azienda tedesca deep-tech precedentemente nota come RITTEC Umwelttechnik GmbH e poi Rittec 8.0 Umwelttechnik GmbH, oggi con sede a Braunschweig e guidata da Benjamin Rump e Melanie Hackler.
    L'azienda continua a sviluppare la tecnologia brevettata revolPET® (e la correlata revolTEX® per il tessile), un processo di riciclo chimico per depolimerizzazione che scompone rifiuti in PET (comprese le confezioni multistrato, le bottiglie colorate e i tessili in poliestere, difficili o impossibili da riciclare meccanicamente) nei monomeri di base (acido tereftalico e glicole etilenico), permettendo di ripolimerizzarli in PET vergine di alta qualità, adatto anche al contatto alimentare.
    La tecnologia, sviluppata in collaborazione con il TU Braunschweig (ICTV e IWF) nell'ambito di un programma di ricerca del ministero federale tedesco (BMBF), ha ricevuto il Founder's Prize del German Sustainability Award (Next Economy Award 2021) e collabora con partner industriali come Leistritz Extrusionstechnik ed Equipolymers.
