Flint Group is a company with historic headquarters in Luxembourg, among the world's largest printing ink manufacturers (ranked second globally by Ink World, with sales of $1.63 billion in 2023), formed in 2005 through the merger with US-based Flint Ink Corporation and grown through numerous acquisitions (Day International in 2007, Xeikon in 2015, American Inks & Coatings/Printec/Advanced Colour System in 2016, Druckfarben in the UK).
The company operates through five business segments (Flexible Packaging, Paper & Board, Narrow Web, Sheetfed Offset and Flint Group Digital Xeikon) supplying a broad range of inks and coatings (conventional, water-based, energy-curable/UV, vegetable-oil-based) for flexographic, gravure and offset applications, alongside pressroom chemicals, photopolymer plates, flexographic sleeves and digital colour presses for labels and corrugated packaging.
In September 2023 the company was restructured through a debt-for-equity conversion, with control passing to a consortium of funds/creditors (including CVC Capital Partners and Goldman Sachs Asset Management), further refocusing the business on packaging and narrow-web labels.
Recent products include EkoCure ANCORA F2 (a dual-curing UV LED system for food packaging) and Evolution (varnishes and primers supporting the recycling of shrink sleeve labels).
