Information about the Protection of personal data (pursuant to art. 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679)
Information provided, pursuant to art. 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), to persons who participate in events, manifestations and/or initiatives promoted, organised and carried out by Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna.
Reference is made to art. 6, para. 1, letter e), of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) for information about the lawfulness of the processing carried out.
Parties involved in processing

Purposes and methods of processing
The data collected for processing will be processed without prior consent from the data subject pursuant to art. 6, para. 1, letter e), of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). In addition, the data will be processed in order to include you on the mailing list (newsletter), so that you can receive, automatically and without charge, information by e-mail about subsequent institutional initiatives (e.g. invitations to other University events; requests to participate in other research projects).
Please note that the event may be recorded and filmed using audio-video equipment. The data collected for processing, including some or all of the images and audio/video films and recordings (hereinafter the “Images”) made during the event and subsequently modified and/or adapted, if applicable, will be processed in full compliance with the Regulation on the protection of personal data.
The data will be processed, using electronic and/or other means, by specifically authorised parties for institutional, research, cultural and teaching purposes, for the popularisation and communication activities of the University, and for the purposes described in art. 4 of Rector’s Decree 271/2009.
The Images collected will be stored in electronic and/or other forms using any type of technological support for the purposes and with the limitations defined above and may be disseminated pursuant to Law 150/2000 via institutional websites and social network channels (including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube). Use of the Images does not give the right to receive any remuneration.
Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna is entitled to make access to or disseminate the Images of the user without obtaining consent, pursuant to art. 97 of Law 633/1941. Pursuant to the above article and art. 10 of the Italian Civil Code, all use of the Images that might prejudice the honour, reputation or dignity of the person shown, filmed or recorded is specifically excluded, regardless of the circumstances.
Data retention period
Consistent with the principles established in art. 5 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the data will be retained by Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna for a period of time no longer than is necessary for the purposes of processing and with specific regard for the storage limitation principle established in art. 5, letter e), of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.
Nature of the data
The supply of data is optional. Refusal to supply the data will make it impossible to register and, therefore, to participate in the event.
Refusal to supply the data for the newsletter service would make it impossible to obtain that service (e.g. we would be unable to inform and involve the data subject in future activities). Do not attend the event if you do not wish to participate in the audio-video recordings and/or dissemination of the related Images.
Rights of data subjects
The parties to which the personal data relates enjoy the rights specified in sections 2, 3 and 4 of Chapter III of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.
In particular, they have the following rights in relation to the data controller: right of access to their personal data and its rectification or erasure, right to restrict or object to processing that relates to them and right to data portability.
They are also entitled to complain to a supervisory authority.
