Design X

Design X is the celebratory initiative marking the 10th anniversary of the University of Bologna’s design degree courses, launched in the 2023–2024 academic year. The title refers both to the ten years that have passed since the establishment of the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Industrial Product Design (2013/2014) and to the concept of “Design for,” a discipline dedicated to addressing issues relevant to the contemporary world: from caring for the body and the planet to sustainability, from human-machine interaction to the cultural and creative industries.

The full-year program brought together national and international guests for seminars, workshops, and exhibitions. It officially opened on September 21, 2023, with an inaugural ceremony in the Aula Magna of the University Library of Bologna, attended by academic authorities, institutional representatives, and figures from the business world. During the same period, students and alumni organized two days of design and performance activities at the Viale del Risorgimento campus.
